About Coldwater, OH - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Coldwater, Ohio is a small village located in Mercer County. As of 2010, about 4,500 people called this community home. Coldwater was originally platted in 1859 and was named after the nearby Coldwater Creek. This village is centrally located between Ft. Wayne, Lima, Dayton, and Muncie, and it has been rated as one of the best places to raise a family in the State of Ohio.

The Coldwater Community Picnic is one of the most popular events in the city, and it is held over the first weekend of August. Festivities include sidewalk sales and a Friday night firework show at the town’s shopping center. Food, drinks, concerts, a parade, games, and carnival rides also wrap up the event.

In addition to the Community Picnic, there are a few other noteworthy things to see and do in Coldwater. The Tailspin Brewing Company is a great place to try out some local brews, while McSober’s Saloon is a popular place to check out the local nightlife. Local restaurants include The Grill on Main, Southside Restaurant, and Calico Café & Necessities for the Nest.

Coldwater weather is typical of a U.S. humid continental zone. Snowfall is moderate during the winter, as the area isn’t in the direct path of lake-effect snow off of Lake Erie. However, the region does see about 24 inches of accumulation each year, and daily high temperatures in January often stay in the low-30s. There are several nights each season where lows plummet below zero, which can lead to dangerous conditions without the right climate control system. A gas or electric furniture will ensure that Coldwater resident stay safe and comfortable throughout the season.

A typical Coldwater summer will include hot and humid days with temperatures well into the 80s. Severe storms including lightening, hail, and an occasional tornado are also real possibilities. A central air conditioning unit will keep interior climates comfortable regardless of what is going on outdoors, and they can also help to improve indoor air quality.
