About Maria Stein, OH - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Maria Stein is an unincorporated community found in Mercer County, Ohio. Meaning “Mary of the Rock” or “Mary’s stone” in German, this community is found in the middle of an area called the Land of the Cross-Tipped Churches – the home of many German Catholic parishes. Maria Stein is a rural farming community, and its history dates back into the early 1800s. Development of the community was heavily included by the creation of the area Miami and Erie Canal.

Maria Stein is only about 6.5 miles from Grand Lake St. Marys, which is a manmade lake that was constructed to feed the Miami and Erie Canal. There are a variety of outdoor recreational opportunities available there, including fishing, boating, and picnicking. The community itself hosts the annual Maria Stein Country Fest each June – a weekend event celebrating the religious and rural roots of this small community. Tractor square dancing is the highlight of the festival, although the parade and food are also popular.

The weather of Maria Stein will vary with the changing of the seasons. Summers are extremely muggy and hot, with average highs reaching well into the upper-80s. While there are plenty of outdoor activities available, it is important to have a cool place to retreat. An energy efficient central air conditioner will keep indoor conditions comfortable while also improving indoor air quality.

Winter weather in Maria Stein can be equally uncomfortable, but for different reasons. Frigid temperatures and cold conditions make their way into the area beginning in November. While snow accumulation is modest compared to other parts of the U.S., ice and freezing conditions are possible. To stay warm, residents need to have a properly-sized and reliable furnace at home. Periodic system checks made by an HVAC specialist will also ensure these units are running at peak energy efficiency.
